Senior Customs Entry Writer

Customs Brokerage - New Hyde Park, NY - Full Time

What we’re looking for…

  • Senior-level Entry Writer with 3-5 years of entry writing experience and familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations
  • Experience dealing with a high volume of data entry
  • Cargowise experience and knowledge is a plus

About the Position Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Prepares customs entries for all import shipments to be submitted to and released from U.S. Customs in a timely manner
  • Ensures that all entries are properly classified by using tools such as company profiles, CROSS (Customs Rulings Online Search System), Internet and communicating with the Importer of record
  • Creates invoices for duty and entry charges to be sent to the Billing Department
  • Develops and maintains customer profiles based on the customer’s shipment history
  • Coordinates with customers to classify new commodities per according to HTS
  • Answers any Brokerage related inquiries internally and externally

Work Schedule

New York Office 9:00 am – 6:00 pm EST (Rotational overtime on Sundays)

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with Microsoft Office

Education & Experience

  • Associate's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of entry writing experience

Salary

$65,000-$75,000 annually based on education and experience level
