About the Position 

Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Architect data solutions and ensure they are built for performance, fault tolerance and security with reusable patterns.
  • Identifies, recommends and champions improvements to database infrastructure that increases performance, reduces cost, improves availability, and/or provides more value to customers.
  • Communicate with internal business users, team members and out-sourced vendors to complete projects or solve issues.
  • Perform detailed data requirements analyses, design and implementation of complex data flows.
  • Creates, executes, and interprets results from simple to moderately complex ad hoc SQL queries.
  • Advanced skill level in SQL, data integration, data modeling, data architecture and reporting.
  • Monitors, interprets, and troubleshoots SQL server health of moderate complexity including database status, security, indexing, logging, and similar issues that could affect system performance, security, integrity, and/or availability.
  • Design, direct and implement automated ETLELT processes, including data capture, data quality, data transformation, testing and validation methods. 
  • ETL design and implementation include various data sources and destinations, such as txt files, excel files, different databases and xml files.
  • Design data model(s) for the ODS/Data marts and refine logic design for translation into specific data model(s).
  • Design semantic layer and cube(s) for analytical purposes.
  • Design, direct and implement analytical reports based on the underlying data models.
  • Advanced knowledge of physical database design and data structures.

Work Schedule

Los Angeles Office 8:00 am- 5:00 pm PST

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in database administration with a deep knowledge of performance tuning, database design, stored procedure and function scripting
  • 8+ years of experience in ETL design, implementation and maintenance, familiar with various ETL tools such as SSIS, Informatica, Trinity, Teradata Automation and DataStage
  • 8+ years of experience in report design and implementation, familiar with various reporting tools such as SSRS and Tableau
  • 8+ years of experience in analytical data model design and familiar with cube design using SSAS
  • 8+ years of experience in various database platform and familiar with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Informix and Teradata
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows and Linux, with the ability to shell script and ASP is a plus

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics or equivalent work experience 
  • MCSA, OCP or OCA certified
